D.A.R.E.

D.A.R.E. is an exciting 13-week program taught by School Resource Officer Jeff Zwicky to teach youth to control their impulses and think about risks and consequences resulting in more responsible choices. As they grow to be responsible citizens, they will lead healthier and more productive drug-free lives. The curriculum meets multiple National Core Standards in the areas of Reading (Literature, Informational Text, and Foundational Skills), Writing, and Speaking and Listening.

The program is instructed in one-hour blocks once a week. The topic of each lesson is different, but builds on the previous lesson. This program is a cooperative effort between the Rothschild Police Department and the D.C. Everest School District and Newman Catholic School at St. Mark.

Neighborhood Watch

The Rothschild Police Department Neighborhood Watch Program is simply neighbors looking out for each other and the willingness to take proper action when you see something amiss.

Your Neighborhood Watch will not only make your neighborhood a safe place to live, but will result in a new feeling of caring and belonging among neighbors. This program also brings the Rothschild Police Department and the community closer together as we both have a common goal, the welfare of you and your family.

Radar Board

The Rothschild Police Department currently has radar reader boards available to be used throughout the Village at locations with traffic speed problems. If you have a problem in your neighborhood, please contact the Rothschild Police Department and a radar reader board may be installed in your neighborhood.

As a result of a grant the Police Department was able to purchase these radar reader boards a number of years ago and they have assisted with proactive traffic enforcement. For more information, contact Captain Kevin Ostrowski at 715/359-3879.

Ride Along With Officers

The Rothschild Police Department accepts "ride-along" requests from individuals living or working in Rothschild who have a legitimate interest in personally observing police patrol operations. The purpose of the program is to provide an educational experience to those desiring a career in law enforcement, to promote positive community relations, and to serve as a recruitment tool.

Before a ride-along is approved, a background investigation will be conducted on individuals requesting to ride with an officer. If you are interested in riding on patrol with a police officer for a portion of a shift, please review, complete, & return all of the forms:
