Veterans Memorial ParkVeterans Park Rothschild WI - Copy

Next to the Village of Rothschild Village Hall is Veterans Park which features the Gold Star Mothers' Statue. The bronze life-sized replica is of a grief-stricken mother, who has just received a telegram that she has lost her child to war.  The statue is emotional.  Families become Gold Star members when a loved one gives their life while in service to our country.  This statue is the only one of its kind west of New York.  American Legion Post 492 raised the funds for the statue as a tribute to show immeasurable support for Gold Star Families.  The park is open to the community and to visitors, near and far.  Gold Star Families' Day is recognized the last Sunday of September annually.  Gold Star Spouses' Day is recognized on April 5 annually. Learn more about the Gold Star Mothers' Statue HERE.

On November 11, 2007 the Blue Star Memorial was rededicated to Veterans at its new location south of the Village Hall. A parcel of land was graciously donated by the Village for this project that offers a garden setting for reflection. On November 9, 2008 the Fallen Soldier's Memorial was celebrated as an addition to the Blue Star Memorial. You can view "The History of the Rothschild Blue Star Memorial Highway Marker" as compiled by Judy Pitcher and Joe Kelbley at the Village Hall Clerk's Office.
