Zoning Administrator/Building Inspector Position
The Zoning Administrator administers the Village’s zoning ordinances, and acts as the property maintenance inspector, and building inspector. Ordinance administration includes zoning ordinance interpretation, review of requests for zoning changes, variances, conditional use permits, sign permits, zoning code revisions, plat and CSM review, and zoning ordinance enforcement activities including property maintenance inspector duties. This position will also serve as the building inspector for residential building projects work closely with the State of Wisconsin inspector for commercial permits in the Village. The candidate shall be literate in Microsoft Office software. Working knowledge of operation within the ESRI ArcGIS platform is a significant plus.
The candidate is expected to provide excellent customer service and communication skills and attend evening meetings and report to the Planning & Zoning Committee, Board of Appeals, and Village Board, as necessary.
The candidate must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Urban or Regional Planning with emphasis in land use planning or related field, or comparable. The Village of Rothschild will aid in the candidate in obtaining the for State of Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code (UDC) Certification for Construction, Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing if needed as required within 1-year of hire.
